About Me

Kathleen Scully - Certified Baby Sleep Coach

I had my first child at the end of 2019, a little boy. I struggled a lot with his lack of sleep and tried to support him in various different ways. When my twin girls were born, I had three children under three! Once I knew I was expecting twins and would have three children so close in age, I decided I needed to learn as much as possible about sleep. I became interested in the area and would research and read everything I could about baby/child sleep.

As I got to know more about sleep, I found that family and friends started coming to me for support and advice with sleep, and I loved being able to help. I came across the Gentle Baby Sleep Coach certification through Kim West. I knew I wanted to be able to support more families and their little ones to get a better night’s sleep.

I have always worked in care and supporting people in difficult times of life has always been a passion of mine. I have an honours degree in Social Science from the National University of Ireland Maynooth and a postgraduate diploma in Public Management and a Masters in Health Care Management, both from the Institute of Public Administration, Dublin.

Professionally, my background is in home care for the elderly. For the last 12 years, I have worked in various roles – Health Care Assistant, Care Coordinator, Client Care Manager, Operations Manager and most recently, Head of Planning and Capacity. I have always loved working in the home care sector and managing quality services for people in their time of need.

From having my own babies (and especially multiples), I realised how few sleep-related resources and supports there are for parents in Ireland. I also notice lots of contradictory advice in relation to baby sleep. Teaching your child good sleep habits is one of the most important things you can do.  My passion is to be that support for parents and families as they put in place practical plans to help their family’s sleep needs.

Each child is unique, and each family is too, so I will work with you to create a customised sleep plan for each child. Both parents and the child thrive better with more settled sleep. When babies and children sleep well, so do we as parents, which allows us to manage better what each day throws at us. Contact me for more information on how a baby sleep coach can help your family!
